Question:

What would it cost the ‘Devil,’ or the following companies to be called ethical on some coo coo list?

A New York based ‘Stink tank,’ calling itself  ‘The Ethisphere Institute’ has selected 99 companies  it says are the world’s most ethical businesses.

The list includes Dell Inc., Honeywell International Inc, Nike Inc, Patagonia, BMW Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, Johnson Controls Inc and HSBC Holdings PLC, Best Buy Co Inc and T-Mobile International AG & Co KG, General Electric Co, American Express Co, PepsiCo Inc, McDonald’s Corp, Starbucks Corp, IKEA AB…

“The mission of our group is to improve corporate behavior,” said Alex Brigham, executive director of the Ethisphere Institute.

Ethisphere Institute says they are “dedicated to the advancement of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability.” Reuters reported.

Each company is chosen against its peers in the same industries because  each industry operates under different circumstances, Brigham said.

It’s not clear whether AIG, General Motors and Madoff & Co had originally featured on the Ethisphere’s list, and subsequently withdrawn.
